My puppy is 5 months old. Should he be going into Puppy Pre-school, or Family Dog class?

You should register him in the Family Dog Program. Puppy Pre-school is for puppies who are between the age of 10 and 15 weeks on lesson #1.

I would like to register my dog for one of your classes. How do I know if there is still space available?

It is our aim to keep our website up to date. We will mark a class as full asap. We work on a first sent-first serve basis. We may have space when you call, and then a registration (or 2) may show up. Our classes fill in a week or an hour. Best bet? Send it to us as soon as you can. There is no payment required until the class meets the minimum number of dogs.

I have attended a Puppy Pre-school class with my dog when he was 3 months old. He did learn basic commands such as sit and lie down in Puppy Pre-school. He is now 5 months old. Should he go into Family Dog or Step Ahead?

Our Family Dog Program is designed to be the class taken after any Puppy Pre-school. Although you may have learned some of the basics, it is not a good idea to rush your training. Family Dog will cover walking on leash, staying while the handler is across the room (and other dogs beside them), making sure they understand down / stay and Family Dog builds on manners and relationship issues. At 5 months of age we still have to address jumping up on people, manners at the door and paying attention. The bulk of the training theory, that you will use in more advanced classes, is taught in Family Dog.

I have sent in my registration, but have not had any confirmation that I have been accepted into the course. Can you please let me know if you received it?

Our on-line registration system is designed to send you an automatic email as soon as we receive your registration. If you do not see an email come through, please go back to your registration and check your email address. If it was spelled wrong, you will not get a confirmation from us. As soon as the class you registered goes forward, you will get a second email as a confirmation. If you dont receive this second email, it means that the class doesnt have the minimum number of dogs yet. If the class you registered for is slated to start in a day or two and you have not heard from us, please call or send an email. Thanks.

I would like to register for a class, but do not have a Visa and would like to make sure that I get a spot. Can I register and pay at your school in person?

Yes, you can pay in person. First, send in your registration on line and in he areas of "Main areas of concern" please put a note that you would like to pay by cheque. This will ensure you get a space in the class before it is filled. Our system to pay in person is different for each location. If you want a class in Ajax, we have a door going in to our training hall with a small space under it. Your payment, in an envelope, is quite safe if slipped under the door. You can do this at any time. If you are in Toronto you can pay in person but will need to call us to see when we are teaching. (Please do not drop payment off at Urbandog without discussion with our office first. Thanks). Payment can be made in Toronto in the evenings, during our breaks in between our classes. In both locations, payments can’t be made while any classes are in progress. All cheque payments need to have a note attached with the class name/date/location and our dogs name listed. This will enable us to match your payment to your registration.
