COURSE NAME: Agility Level 1

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Get ready for the most popular dog sport! This course will get you started on your way to playing the sport of agility. Emphasis on motivation and targeting. While running around Agility equipment is great fun, it is our goal to help you and your dog become a team and develop a bond. Sequencing equipment prior to handling skills and motivation is akin to playing mini golf. Fun, but not many skills required. We believe that Agility is great fun, esp if your dog is doing well, and we aim to teach this sport like you would learn the sport of golf. With the skills in place, you will be on your way!
Basic pieces of agility equipment will also be taught (kept at a lower height). We will cover Targeting - Motivation - Tunnel - Left & Right - jumps -Tippy plank - Tire - barrel - Shadow Handling - Intro to A Frame.
We do suggest you bring a note book, or go home and make notes for your reference, as each dog will receive individual instuction.
This class is best suited for friendly, non-reactive dogs.
Clicker knowledge is helpful and dogs should have excellent off leash skills. Agility is a "Team" sport, so handling skills are needed for our human students too :) Please note that space in this course is reserved first for the students currently enrolled in our prerequisite classes.
