FOUNDER

Gillian believed that education combined with experience was the key to helping clients teach and manage their dogs.
Gillian Ridgeway, the founder of Who’s Walking Who, began her canine training career in 1972 as a dog training apprentice. She opened Paws For Thought, a pet boutique in the 1980’s that was a staple of the Toronto Beach community. Gillian was always on hand in her shop to help with advice.

Her love of dog training continued, and she founded Who’s Walking Who in 1989 in the Beach neighborhood. Who’s Walking Who then opened a second location in Ajax in 1999 and a third location at Park9 Urban Dog Playcare & Resorts in the Distillery District of downtown Toronto in 2004.

A founding member of both the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers and International Positive Dog Trainers Association, Gillian believed that education combined with experience was the key to helping clients teach, and manage, their dogs. This involvement ensured that she remained up to date on all current training issues.

In 2018, Gillian decided it was time to retire and sold her much-loved business to Lynda Kitson. Lynda came from the corporate world but holds the same values and ethics as Gillian where dog training is concerned. She has been an Instructor with Who’s Walking Who since 2009 and has been actively involved with dogs all her life.

Lynda teaches many of our specialty classes and developed our Musical Freestyle course. She is a Certified Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid Instructor and founded K9 Compass in 2012 through which she conducts Pet First Aid courses in Ajax, Burlington, Guelph, Lindsay and Mississauga. She is also an active volunteer with Golden Rescue, and her dogs are members of the Woofjocks Canine All Stars.

However, Lynda wasn’t about to let Gillian retire that easily! With her gift of public speaking and tell-it-like-it is style, Gillian continues to entertain and educate dog owners through her Puppy Points seminars as well as instructing many of our classes in Ajax. She also does Puppy Household Manners visits and you may well find her responding to your email.

Today, Who’s Walking Who Dog Training Centres see over 150 dogs per week. Our highly skilled canine coaching team will provide you with all your dog-training needs. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, let us know and we’ll look into adding it to our curriculum.
